Nearly 100 companies have announced layoffs scheduled throughout March, with cuts ranging from a handful of employees to as many as 500. The job reductions, reported through WARN notices via WARNTracker.com, span multiple industries, including retail, healthcare, technology, and manufacturing.

Retail giants such as Amazon, Walgreens, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Joann, Kohl’s, and Guitar Center are among those downsizing. Macy’s, which has faced declining in-store traffic, previously stated that it is restructuring operations to adapt to changing consumer habits.

Tech firms are also making significant cuts. Intel, Qualcomm, and Amazon are letting go of employees as they adjust to economic conditions and shifts in demand. Qualcomm, a leader in semiconductor production, has been particularly affected by global supply chain disruptions and a slowdown in smartphone sales.

The healthcare sector is also seeing workforce reductions. Kaiser Permanente, CVS Health Corporation, AT&T’s healthcare division Optum Care, and behavioral health providers such as West Pines Behavioral Health and Johnstown Heights Behavioral Health are among those issuing layoff notices.

In manufacturing and logistics, major players like Jeld-Wen, Rich Products Corporation, Sensata Technologies, and Packaging Corporation of America are cutting jobs. FedEx and Universal Logistics Intermodal, both significant employers in shipping and distribution, have also announced layoffs.

Defense and aerospace companies are not immune. Peraton’s Environmental Test & Integration Services III, HII Mission Technologies, and QuantumScape Battery are among those reducing their workforce.

Other notable companies affected include REI, Advanced Drainage Systems, Neiman Marcus, S&B Engineers and Constructors, and Gannett, the parent company of USA Today.
